Road Map

FleetNet Roadmap

The FleetNet Roadmap for Electronic Commerce is a scheme that is designed to help guide FleetNet members through all the stages of their electronic commerce implementation, building upon the standards of best practice developed by FleetNet over the years.

The scheme consists of two fundamental elements a map or checklist, of all the major steps of electronic commerce implementations, together with an accreditation process for electronic commerce products and services where vendors may be accredited by FleetNet as meeting our standards of best electronic commerce practice.

The FleetNet Roadmap has been designed to be easy to use for both small and large companies alike, to cover the most simple of electronic commerce implementations to the mostsophisticated.

The Implementation Map

Every electronic commerce implementation requires careful planning to ensure all options are considered and the relevant steps undertaken in a manner that best fits the business requirement. The Implementation Map aims to do just this by describing a checklist, a step by step guide, of all the processes necessary to implement, for example EDI successfully – including both VAN and Internet delivered EDI.

The Accreditation Scheme

The Accreditation Scheme is aimed at the vendors of products and services necessary to implement EDI and other electronic commerce solutions. These will include consultancies, training organisations, software providers, VAN and Internet providers, application providers and a host of others. The current accredited companies are Perwill, GEISand JJ Associates – full details are available under the Accreditation Scheme

Vendors’ products and services complying with FleetNet standards will be certified with the FleetNet ‘tick-it’ and promoted as such to the vehicle fleet industry. They are also cross-references on the Implementation Map so users will know who to turn to for help at each stage of implementation.

Whilst there is a nominal administration charge to vendors for accreditation, the Implementation Map is freely available to all members. For further information contact the FleetNet Administration team.
